WeRecycle's Electronic Collection Events Keep Over 75,000 Pounds of Used Computers and Potentially Hazardous Components from Landfills

MERIDEN, Conn. -- WeRecycle! Inc. recently worked with HP to run eight residential electronic recycling collection events in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. These events kept over 75,000 pounds of used electronics from going to landfills. Four more events will be held in North Carolina on February 24.

These free events are part of a series of collection events sponsored by HP. This program was created by HP to minimize electronic waste going to landfills and to help consumers conveniently recycle end-of-life computers and electronics in an environmentally responsible way.

The events were held in Brooksville, and Fort Walton Beach, Florida, as well as Augusta, Columbus, Douglasville, Rome, and Valdosta, Georgia, and North Charleston, South Carolina. Residents came to the collection events to drop off their used computers, copiers, fax machines, and other household electronics.

HP will be sponsoring four more electronic collection events on February 24 in Hendersonville, Hickory, Greensboro, and Kannapolis, North Carolina. To learn more about HP recycling programs and events in your area, visit: www.hp.com/recycle.
