Industry Contribution

WeRecycle! is involved in a number of activities and organizations designed to keep us abreast of changing regulations and market conditions that shape our business. Below are several high profile roles we are currently participating in:

  • EPA Stakeholder Group - Sit on a panel to establish Electronics Recycler Certification Standards.
  • Basel Action Network - Involved with subcommittee to develop a 3rd party auditable system for Electronics Recycler's Pledge of True Stewardship signatories.
  • ISRI (Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, Inc.) – WeRecycle! sits on ISRI’s Electronics Recycling Council and recently voluntarily developed the council’s Best Management Practices.
  • NERC (Northeast Recycling Council) - NERC is very active in the area of electronics recycling and has been creating "model" legislation for the 10 northeast states. WeRecycle! is a stakeholder in the Recyclers/Reuse Interest Group providing testimony at hearings.
  • All WeRecycle! member organizations.

Electronics Recycler’s Pledge of True Stewardship

WeRecycle! is a proud signee of the BAN Electronics Recycler's Pledge of True Stewardship. BAN (Basel Action Network) is the world's only organization focused on confronting the excesses of unbridled free trade in the form of "Toxic Trade" (trade in toxic wastes, toxic products and toxic technologies) and its devastating impact on global environmental justice. By signing this pledge, we affirm not to allow hazardous e-waste, as defined internationally, to be sent to solid waste landfills, incinerators, prison recycling operations or developing countries.
